Under the hood is Honda's proven 999cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a Unicam SOHC cylinder head, four valves per cylinder, and fuel injection through a 44mm throttle body -- the same engine architecture found in Honda's legendary motocross machines, now tuned for torque-rich, all-day utility performance. Power is put to the ground through the industry-first six-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission with fully automatic and manual modes, paddle shifters on the steering column, a dedicated Tow/Haul mode, and i-4WD with brake-traction control for serious grip in any condition. High/low range, differential lock, and turf mode round out a drivetrain that is prepared for whatever the day throws at it. Independent double-wishbone suspension front and rear delivers 10.5 inches of front travel and 10.0 inches of rear travel, keeping all six passengers comfortable no matter how rough the terrain gets. Ground clearance checks in at a capable 12.6 inches, and self-leveling rear suspension automatically adjusts when you load up the bed or add passengers, maintaining a consistent, controlled ride every time.
The cab is where the Pioneer 1000-6 Deluxe Crew really stands out. The full crew-cab second row offers a genuine 28 inches of knee space and a staggered center seat to maximize shoulder room -- no cramped, folded-up passengers back here. QuickFlip seats convert the rear seating area to cargo space in seconds when you need the extra room. The 1,000 lb hydraulic-assist tilt bed dumps effortlessly with the pull of a lever, and a 12-volt accessory outlet in the bed keeps electric coolers, work lights, air compressors, and sprayers running all day long. A 7-inch LCD display with Bluetooth audio, pre-wired dash accessory switches, and a tilt steering column bring a level of comfort and convenience that sets this machine above the competition.
